December was a busy month for health care reform. Illinois submitted its application or “blueprint” to set up a Partnership Health insurance Exchange, now awaiting federal approval. Also, HB 6253 was introduced in the General Assembly. This legislation would provide Medicaid coverage to all people made eligible by the Affordable Care Act. Stay tuned for more on HB 6253 and Medicaid eligibles in each legislative district. We are looking forward to a busy and exciting 2013.
