SCOTUS, Medicaid and Exchanges…Oh My!

The month of July brought many exciting moments, as the long awaited fate of Affordable Care Act was determined in late June. Though the law was upheld, discussion turned away from the individual mandate to the Medicaid expansion provision. Here in Illinois, Governor Quinn reaffirmed the Medicaid expansion and stated that Illinois will be moving forward with the federally funded plan. The state is also preparing to move ahead with a health exchange run both by the federal and state government in 2014. More to come on what that will look like in the next several months!
